To be a good fit for the Sr. Manager, Payroll opportunity you will have: 
  • 8+ years experience managing a multi-state and multi-country (US & Canada) payroll department, including staff
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP GlobalView, Kronos, and SAP HCM (HR system) Quick question for you - click here
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Quick question for you - click here
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency using various payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Prior experience leading a payroll system conversion will be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements and internal / external audits
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
  • Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance
  • Ability to work on a team and lead a team of 8-10 direct reports

As the Sr. Manager of HR/Payroll Operations, you will manage the North American Payroll team, with overall responsibility to manage the Company’s payroll function and bi-weekly disbursement of payroll (including garnishments and taxes) to approximately 40,000 employees across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico in compliance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws. Quick question for you - click here

You will ensure employees are paid timely and accurately by managing payroll preparation; completing payroll reporting; maintaining payroll records; and monitoring payroll taxes and liabilities. Additionally, you will also be responsible for a variety of Organizational Management Admin activities such as updating major cost centers and making other critical system changes or employee data changes.

Your major duties and responsibilities will be to: 
  • Manage and guarantee accuracy of weekly and bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state and multi-country (US & Canada) payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to 40,000 employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
  • Supervise payroll staff of approx. 8-10 employees
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, tax procedures, and systems in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Audit W-2s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
  • Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Billing departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
  • Partner with other HR groups to foster improvements in day-to-day processes
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Support data requests for legal cases
